United Utilities Group PLC (UU), the United Kingdom’s largest listed water company, was founded in 1995 as a result of the merger of North West Water and NORWEB. United Utilities holds a license to provide water and sewage services to around seven million people in North West England. The group manages the regulated water and waste water network in North West England.
Their scale of operation includes 5,000 employees serving 7 million domestic customers, managing catchment land as big as 100,000 football pitches and managing enough water and sewer pipes to go round the world three times.
United Utilities’ headquarters are in Warrington and its shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange and the FTSE 100 Index.
